The Triple Crown

On this, the "First Saturday in May", I was able to watch the Kentucky Derby with my dad~he woke up just in time to see I'll Have Another cross the finish line, before fading away, back to into sleep.  We have always connected on Derby day, predicting which horse would win and hoping that we would witness the next Triple Crown Winner.  Sitting beside his bed, God's Spirit encouraged me with thoughts of the CROWNS we receive as His Children.  His Word promises crowns that we will receive when Christ appears...which will never fade away. ♕

"Praise the Lordmy soul;
all my inmost being, praise his holy name.
Praise the Lordmy soul,
and forget not all his benefits—
who forgives all your sins
    and heals all your diseases,
who redeems your life from the pit
and crowns you with Love & Compassion
who satisfies your desires with good things
so that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s."

Psalm 103:1-5

"A wife of noble character is her husband’s crown"
Proverbs 12:4

"Children’s children are a crown to the aged, and parents are the pride of their children."
Proverbs 17:6

"The Spirit of the Sovereign Lord is on me,
because the Lord has anointed me
to proclaim good news to the poor.
He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted,
to proclaim freedom for the captives
and release from darkness for the prisoners,
to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor
and the day of vengeance of our God,
to comfort all who mourn,
and provide for those who grieve in Zion—
to bestow on them a crown of Beauty    instead of ashes
the oil of joy
    instead of mourning,
and a garment of praise
instead of a spirit of despair.
They will be called oaks of righteousness,
    a planting of the Lord
for the display of his splendor."

Isaiah 61:1-3

"Now there is in store for me the crown of Righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day—and not only to me, but also to all who have longed for his appearing."
2Timothy 4:8

"Blessed is the one who perseveres under trial because, having stood the test, that person will receive the crown of Life that the Lord has promised to those who love him."
James 1:12

"And when the Chief Shepherd appears, you will receive the crown of Glory that will never fade away."
1Peter 5:4
